BA Rural House – Raffaele Ripoli Architect

The site located between the countryside and the convent with the beautiful view of the valley up to the Tyrrhenian Sea invites a design choice of respect and preservation of the environmental qualities of the place. For this reason, in the project the “new” appears only as an element of continuity of the local rural tradition. The single-volume farm house with a half-pavilion roof following the slope of the land is the design reference. The structure of the walls is made of bricks bearing the alveolater and the lateral-concrete floors. The facades plastered and colored ochre with the windowsill in tufa stone, the windows in the stone base that illuminate the “catoio” (warehouse), the circular goggles of the attic in axis with the windows on the floor, the cornice of eaves does not very protruding, the atrium-anron with the entrance to the balcony, the wrought iron railings, the arbor are the architectural elements of the “rediscovered” tradition that characterize this “new” rural house. The internal distribution is characterized by the double entry volume, where a balcony overlooks.
