PC House – Raffaele Ripoli Architect

The project involves the extension and renovation of an original farm house, whose original shape was modified with some changes made between 1970 and 1990. The vertical extension is a result of the elevation of the top floor (attic) and the horizontal addition is a result of the removal of a few elements that had been added to the original plan, the reconstruction of the entrance which included an extension allowing for a new porch on the terrace . The stone wall at the entrance of the house and the square below lead you into the house. The distribution is on three levels. The entrance -living room (first floor) is characterized by a glass wall at an angle and by the flat wood ceiling. On the first floor (second level) a terrace covered by a roofed porch was added. The new attic floor (third level) lined in pine laminate beams presents a custom designed interior with wood panels as fixed furnishings following the roof’s inclination. The large window in the master bedroom overlooks a beautiful view of the town of Scigliano and valley of Savuto expanding all the way to the Tyrrhenian Sea. The structure of the extension is built in masonry and laminated wood. The tiles of the new roofs are made of clay.
